Lesson 1: God creates the world

Readings: Genesis 1: 1-19

When God made the world it was very different! The first verse of the Bible tells us that:“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”, which means that He made them out of nothing. Before God made the world there wasjust darkness. God is so great that when He made the world all He had to do was speak.

Lesson 2: God creates the world and man

Readings: Genesis 1: 20 - 2:3

We can sometimes be disappointed with the things that we make. When God made the world, He said that everything was good!

Lesson 3: The first man and woman

Readings: Genesis 2: 4-25

Adam lived in a beautiful garden called Eden. Here, God gave him everything he needed – food and water. God also told Adam to look after the garden.

Lesson 4: God’s world is spoiled

Readings: Genesis 3: 1-24

When the world was first made, everything was perfect. There was no sickness, sadness or death. But one day, God’s enemy, Satan, disguised as a serpent, came into the garden. Satan spoke to Eve, and told her that if she ate fruit from “The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil”, she would be as clever as God!
