Readings: Genesis 12: 1-9
Abram lived in a big city. One day God said, “Abram, I want you to leave your home and your friends and go to a new land. I will guide you to the right place.” Abram trusted God and set out. His wife Sarai and his nephew Lot went with him.
Lesson 2: Abram and Lot
Readings: Genesis 13: 1-18
Abram and Lot both had large flocks of sheep and many servants to look after them. One day their servants were quarrelling because there was not enough grass to feed all the sheep. Abram was sorry about this. So he said that he and Lot should live in different places.
Lesson 3: God’s promises
Readings: Genesis 15: 1-7
Abram was sad because he had no children. He wanted a little boy, so he asked God to give him a son. God told Abram to go outside his tent, look up into the night sky, and count all the stars. But Abram could not count the stars. There were far too many!
Lesson 4: Abraham’s visitors
Readings: Genesis 18: 1-15
It was a hot day. Abraham was sitting at the door of his tent. Three very special visitors came to see him. They were God’s messengers from Heaven!
