Readings: Acts 2: 1-42
It was the Day of Pentecost! The word ‘Pentecost’ actually means ‘fifty’. It was a Jewish Festival celebrated on the 50th day after Passover, in commemoration of the giving of the law to Moses on Mount Sinai. This, however, was to be no ordinary Pentecost, for on the Pentecost described in the Bible Reading something very special happened.

On this occasion, the Lord, through the apostles, shows His compassion for ONE PERSON. God is still concerned about individuals … He cares about each one of us … He cares about you!

In the Bible Reading, Peter and John are still in the Temple by Solomon’s Porch addressing the people gathered around them. With them is the lame man whom Peter has just healed in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
