Lesson 1: Learning from Jesus

Readings: Luke 10: 38-42

I’m sure you sometimes have visitors to your home. Your mom has lots of things to do before they arrive; tidying the house, shopping and cooking so that everything is just right. Maybe you can help! Martha lived in Bethany. Very kindly, she invited the Lord Jesus and His disciples to visit. Martha wanted to do her best for them – the Lord Jesus was such a special visitor.

Lesson 2: Life through Jesus

Readings: John 11 1-7; 17- 44

Can you think of a time when you felt sad? Perhaps one of your toys was broken or a pet died. Mary and Martha were sad because their brother Lazarus was very sick. They wanted Jesus to be there, so they sent for Him. They knew that He could make Lazarus better. But Jesus chose not to come. He knew what was best for Mary and Martha. He knew how things would work out in the end.

Lesson 3: Love for Jesus

Readings: John 12: 1-11

Some people do many things to help us. These people are special to us. It is good to say ‘Thank you’ to them in return for all they do for us. Perhaps you have given a ‘Thank you’ present.

Lesson 4: Looking at Jesus

Readings: Luke 19: 28- 44

Jesus knew that He was about to enter Jerusalem for the very last time. Soon it would be time for Him to do what He came to earth for – to die so that our sins could be forgiven.
