Lesson 1: The call to follow
Readings: 1 Kings 19: 19-21, 2 Kings 2: 1-15
One day Elijah found a young man called Elisha working in a field. He threw his cloak around him. Elisha knew that this meant he should leave his farming and go with Elijah to serve God.
Lesson 2: Help for a friend
Readings: 2 Kings 4: 8-37
Elisha travelled around the country doing God’s work. Sometimes he visited a lady who was very kind to him. She gave him a special bedroom and cooked him good meals. Elisha promised the lady that God would soon give her a baby boy and so He did!
Lesson 3: Healing a leper
Readings: 2 Kings 5: 1-19
Naaman was a very important soldier. One day he became very ill with a bad skin disease. No doctors could make him better. In Naaman’s house was a little girl who had come from the land where Elisha lived. She was sure that God could help Elisha to make Naaman better.
Lesson 4: Cheating is punished
Readings: 2 Kings 5: 19-27
Naaman was on his way home when he saw someone running after him. It was Elisha’s servant, Gehazi. Gehazi knew that Naaman had brought some presents to thank Elisha for making him better but that Elisha had not taken them.
