Lesson 1: Jonah on the Ship

Readings: Jonah 1: 1-9

Jonah served the Lord God by telling people God’s messages.

Lesson 2: Jonah in the Sea

Readings: Jonah 1: 10-17; 2: 1-10

As the storm grew worse, the sailors asked Jonah what they should do with him, so that the sea might be calm again. “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied. However, the captain ordered that they should try and row back to land.

Lesson 3: Jonah preaches in Nineveh

Readings: Jonah 3: 1-10

Jonah had hardly recovered from his awful experience, when God spoke to him the second time about going to Nineveh.

Lesson 4: Jonah prays to God

Readings: Jonah 4: 1-11

Jonah was not very pleased to see that God had not punished the city of Nineveh. In fact, he was very angry with God and told Him so!
