Zacchaeus had a very important job. He was the chief publican, or tax collector, in Jericho. That means that he worked for the Romans, collecting the money which everyone had to pay as taxes. Most tax collectors were dishonest, and overcharged the people. Zacchaeus, too, may have sometimes cheated!
Lesson 2: Nicodemus

Like Zacchaeus, Nicodemus wanted to meet the Lord Jesus. He had heard about His miracles, and believed that Jesus was “a teacher come from God.”
Lesson 3: A woman of Samaria

One day, as the Lord Jesus was on a long journey, He was passing through a district known as Samaria. The people who lived there were unfriendly towards the Jews, and wanted nothing to do with them.
Lesson 4: A rich young man
Readings: Mark 10: 17-23
One day, as the Lord Jesus and His disciples were walking along a road, a young man came running up to Him. Falling down on his knees before Jesus he asked, “Good Master, what shall I do in order to have eternal life?”
