The time was coming when the Lord Jesus would be put to death. One of His disciples, called Judas, went to Jesus’ enemies. He promised to lead them to where Jesus would be, so that they could arrest Him. For helping them, the chief priests gave Judas 30 silver coins.

After being arrested, the Lord Jesus was tried by a Roman Governor called Pontius Pilate.
Lesson 3: Joseph

The Lord Jesus died on the cross. That very evening, a rich man called Joseph asked Pilate for His body. He wanted to bury Him. Pilate let him have Jesus’ body.
Lesson 4: The two travellers

Two of Jesus’ disciples were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus, a village seven miles away. They were very sad because they knew that their Master had died. They hadn’t yet heard the good news about Him being alive again.
