Lesson 1: Commanded by God

This series of lessons is about one of Israel’s greatest prophets, Elijah. He lived at a time when it was very hard to worship God, and to obey and serve Him. Part of the problem was the king who reigned in Israel at this time.

Lesson 2: Cared for by God

Before very long, the brook dried up, and still there was no sign of rain! What was Elijah to do now? Had God forgotten about him? No! The Bible Reading tells us how God had a new plan to care for him.

What a sorry state the land of Israel was in! Drought and famine were everywhere, but still King Ahab went on in his evil ways, refusing to pay attention to what God was saying to him. But now God was going to speak to him in a new and impressive way.

Elijah’s happiness following his great victory over Baal’s prophets at Mount Carmel was short-lived.
