The land was now in the grip of the drought which Elijah had announced. Famine was sure to follow! As the days and weeks passed, Elijah’s brook finally dried up. God had directed him to this quiet, desolate spot in the first place, and had fed him in a miraculous way. Now Elijah waited for God to tell him what to do next. The Lord did not let Elijah down!
