Lesson 1: The Lord Jesus - Growing Up

Readings: Luke 2: 39-52

John was a cousin of Jesus and about the same age. He had been chosen by God to prepare the way for the Lord Jesus, by telling people to repent, which means to turn away from their sins. Those who did so, were baptized, which showed they were really sorry for their sins and that they were going to change their ways.

Lesson 2: The Lord Jesus - Pleasing God

Readings: Luke 3: 1-8; 21-23

We have seen that the Lord Jesus pleased God in every part of His life. Now we learn that Satan had no power over the Lord Jesus to make Him sin.

Readings: Luke 4: 14-22

The fame of the Lord Jesus was spreading. He was talked about all over the area, and when He eventually returned home from Judea, the people who had watched Him grow up wanted to see Him and hear Him preach.
